Steps in the forest
Image by Bods These Lochside forests were beginning to get infuriating. You had to go up then down then up and around. And all the time there was no view รข" nothing to see but trees. You had no concept of how far you'd gone and how much there was left to do. And to add to that the temperature was warm and sticky and my rucksack was digging in my aching back. Catherine's theory is that the second day of walking is always the hardest when you have a full pack on your back and I found this segment of the whole walk annoying and frustrating. Even more so when Catherine realised that we were less far on that we thought we were, and we had many more miles still to go.
